Background

Philip Lyren brings more than three decades of patent experience spanning private practice, senior corporate IP roles, and international law firm leadership. His background includes more than a decade as contract in-house IP counsel for a Fortune 500 technology company, where he was selected to review and grade patent applications and prosecution work prepared by other attorneys.

He has drafted hundreds of patent applications, overseen the prosecution of thousands of applications worldwide, and written more than 100 patent appeal briefs. His experience spans electronics, computing, medical devices, automotive technologies, and other technical fields.

Philip has advised more than 100 technology startups worldwide. His practice also draws on firsthand patent licensing and enforcement experience, years of patent litigation support, and participation in multiple IPR proceedings, including first-chair responsibility in one proceeding.
